New Hires Bring Wealth of Experience to HIFU Prostate Services

Team brings more than 20 years of experience working with High Intensity Focused Ultrasound

CHARLOTTE, N.C. November 2, 2015. HIFU Prostate Services, LLC a leading provider of minimally- invasive prostate cancer treatments, using High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (“HIFU”), announces new hires that bring valuable years of HIFU experience to the company.

“We wanted to bring together a group of veterans from the industry to help physicians and patients have seamless access to the HIFU technology,” said John W. Linn, chief executive officer of HIFU Prostate Services. “We knew that by building the right team, we could quickly offer patients an effective prostate cancer treatment that preserves quality of life.”

In addition to Linn’s 11 years of HIFU experience, these individuals bring over 20 years of combined HIFU experience from SonaCare Medical, LLC, the worldwide leader in HIFU technology and manufacturer of the Sonablate® HIFU system.

Robert Colvin will serve as chief development officer of HIFU Prostate Services. He has over 30 years of healthcare experience, most recently managing a concierge medicine company. Colvin has served in executive leadership roles and will spearhead physician relationships.

Lisa Nelson worked for eight years as controller and patient ambassador for SonaCare Medical. As controller for HIFU Prostate Services, Nelson will assist patients requiring financing, lead the patient ambassador program and manage the accounting.

Beth Kenna spent seven years at SonaCare Medical as one of the top physician development specialists where she established strong physician relationships in the Southeast and Midwest. Kenna will serve as the main contact point for doctors using HIFU and help establish physician partnerships.

Amanda Willis, former vice president of marketing for SonaCare Medical for eight years, is supporting HIFU Prostate Services with marketing and communications initiatives as a consultant.

John R. Harris, a 35-year technology industry veteran, will serve as chairman of the board and guide the company’s strategy and governance. “I am pleased to be a part of HIFU Prostate Services and its mission to deliver the highest quality of care, support, and technology to the patient and to the urology community for the treatment of localized prostate cancer,” said Harris.

HIFU offers patients a single, outpatient treatment for prostate cancer that is bloodless and allows men to return to their normal lifestyles within a few days. Although HIFU is designed as a single treatment, it can be repeated if needed. HIFU may also be used to treat patients that have failed radiation therapy and it does not preclude any future treatments including surgery or radiation.
